Seaside Bar & Grill - Waikiki
Our trip to Oahu and first day in Honolulu wouldn't have been as grand without a full stomach courtesy of the Seaside Bar & Grill.
In typical tourist fashion we skimmed the Honolulu magazines for a good place to eat breakfast. The Seaside Bar & Grill was on our radar screen as it is a short walk from the Aqua Hotel where we were staying. We would've missed the place too, it's exterior is rather drab and if you are one to go by appearances, you might miss this standout for breakfast at a good price. Fortunately, you can't miss the customers and that is definitely one indication that the food is good.
We sat and found ourselves in a bright and cheery cafeteria style diner with brightly painted walls. Our waitress was pleasant enough and since we were starving it took her no time to get our order.
The special was $2.99 for pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I opted for the mexican style egg burrito for $5.99 with scrambled eggs, green peppers, tomatoes, cheese and chilis wrapped in a flour tortilla, it was not spicy and I had to add quite a bit of hot sauce to get it to my preferred heat level. My girlfriend had the $3.99 breakfast which included fries, eggs, bacon and toast. Her thick cut homestyle fries were spicy and the eggs were done just right, over easy which she finished off with buttered wheat toast and bacon, a filling breakfast. We had coffee which was surprisingly bad but I drank it because I needed the caffeine fix.
You can find the Seaside Bar & Grill a few blocks from the beach of Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii. You can contact them by phone at 808-922-8227. They are located on 2256 Kuhio Ave - 96815.
