Aqua Island ColonyForty-three stories located in a central location to Waikiki beaches, shopping, eateries and bars. Older hotel with clean rooms, air conditioning, small counter with sink, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. The hotel is tourist class which became evident by our bathtub which had seen better days.

The hotel is located a few buildings away from a local gay watering hole, Angles, and while I wouldn't say it is particularily geared to lesbians my fiance and I were very comfortable holding onto each other without any negative comments which is always a plus. The Aqua seems to be a favorite of Japanese tourists as there were large groups there during our stay.

Our room was 715 on the 7th floor facing the pool which was nice but a better option is if you ask for a room facing the canal on Alawai street, which is amazingly beautiful and a great place for strolling and people watching.

Room rates: Double bed $100 including taxes (May/June). No charge for additional persons.
